Job Overview Fairview has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team in Bloomington, MN This is a 0.01 FTE ( Casual/ On-Call position), non-benefit-eligible opening. Urgent Care Operating Hours are M-F 9:30am-8:30pm, Sat and Sun 8:30am-5:30pm. This position requires working day/evening and weekend shifts. Shift differential compensation for evening and weekend hours! As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant will gather information and documents to support the patient visit. Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, patient/family preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner and other health care team members. Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures and may include lab draws. Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences. Implements assigned aspects of the patient teaching plan. Documents care in the medical record. Effectively communicates compliance and concerns to delegating physician/authorized practitioner/RN. Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patient. Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practice guidelines. Responds appropriately to emergent situations Functions as care team assistant as needed Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team. Documents care in the medical record. Communicates verbal and written information in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner. Job Overview The Endoscopy RN is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patients undergoing GI procedures or pulmonary studies at the University of Minnesota Medical Center East Bank. These procedures are conducted in a variety of locations within the perioperative setting and may be performed with or without sedation/anesthesia. The RN role includes patient procedural prep and intra-procedure support as well as maintenance of this specific service line’s clinical operations (ex: room turnover, supply and equipment checks). The RN utilizes knowledge of physiological status and developmental stages to provide the patient and family with procedure-related education and support and includes the family in the care of the patient. The Endoscopy RN collaborates with MDs, RNs, Advanced Practice Providers, schedulers, and inpatient staff to coordinate the care of the patient in a fast-paced environment. Is responsible for the proper handling of specimens from patient procedures, properly identifying, preparing and labeling specimens for the lab per the hospital's specimen management policy. Is responsible to perform and assure proper cleaning of endoscopes and other procedural equipment and demonstrate the ability to complete bedside cleaning. Is responsible to complete initial and annual training for bedside equipment cleaning and Sedation competency. We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the M Physician’s Memory Care team. This is an outpatient role and will be practiced at the M Physician’s St. Louis Park location. Practice Details: Conduct comprehensive cognitive assessments, including history-taking, neurological exams, and validated screening tools. Develop and adjust individualized care plans in collaboration with your Memory Care neurologists and others on the treatment team.
