Maintains a nursing unit in compliance with all regulatory agency mandates, including the regulations of NYS DOH and The Joint Commission. 5. Oversees patient care delivery, throughput, staffing and processes to ensure efficient and effective operations during assigned shift. 6. Oversees the budget, including management of OT and vacancies, according to MSHS financial goals. 7. Provides input into the management and retention of qualified staff. 8. Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information. 9. Evaluates nursing staff performance and mentors, coaches, counsels and disciplines staff as needed. 10. Monitors availability and maintenance of nursing equipment and supplies. 11. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and case conferences. Train and mentor Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on health-related procedures and emergency response. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Qualifications Current unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum of two years of nursing experience. Experience working with individuals with IDD, behavioral health, crisis care, or community health is preferred. Knowledge of OPWDD, OMH, and DOH regulations is preferred. Strong assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
