Supports To Empower People (STEP) is hiring a Registered Nurse to oversee the medical care and treatment implementation for adult men with intellectual and developmental, as well as behavioral and mental health issues in Rhode Island. STEP provides empowering assistance in therapeutically receptive environments which allows participants to embark upon the clinical challenges encountered and to safely explore and pursue their dreams. Schedule: 32 hours per week Compensation The pay range for this position is $72,000 to $90,000 per year. In this role, you will: Provide administrative leadership and supervision to staff, ensuring the effective delivery of services and the promotion of JRI's community-based programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. Provide oversight and training for staff regarding all medical functions, encompassing areas such as Medication Administration, Universal Precautions, Food Safety, medical policies and procedures, documentation, nursing care plans, and all other medical tasks performed for Participants. Oversee, review, and implement all medical policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to healthcare issues. Adhere to all regulatory, licensing, and program standards regarding medication administration, documentation, education, responses to medical and psychiatric emergencies, waived testing, and responsibilities linked to prescribing medications. Assess and monitor both physical and mental health conditions, including chronic illnesses. Conduct nursing assessments and develop subsequent nursing care plans for the individuals we support. Oversee all medical care provided to Participants. Document services by composing medical reports, Care Plans, Medical Reviews, and nurses' notes for each Participant. Supervise the maintenance of all medical records, including nursing notes, medication administration records, annual plans, medication renewals, physician's orders, consultation reports, laboratory and x-ray results, etc. Consult with Physicians to enhance the health and wellness of clients, attending appointments as necessary. Coordinate services among healthcare providers, therapists, and caregivers to ensure continuity of care. Provide health education and personal hygiene instruction to individuals as needed. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20 - Performing under the direction of the RN/LPN and as a member of the unit-based patient care team, the Patient Care Assistant/Unit Coordinator (PCA/UC) performs duties of direct and indirect patient care. The direct patient care tasks includes but are not limited to activities of daily living, vital signs, glucometry, EKG’s, weights and Intake/Output data collection. Offer Based on Years of Experience What You Need to Know Be the Best Hospice Nurse Practitioner You Can Be If you meet these qualifications, we would love to meet you: Graduated from an approved school of professional nursing - Masters degree Current and unecumbered advanced practice nurse license in the state(s) practicing One year of experience as an NP Certified by a nationally recognized advanced nurse practice organization Possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical role (preferred) Must be a licensed driver who can travel to all business locations Meet the regulations and requirements of the state(s) in which the program provides services Responsibilities: As a Hospice Nurse Practitioner, you will: Initiate communication with attending physicians, other hospice staff members and other agencies as needed to coordinate optimal care and use of resources for the patient/family Monitor patient progress; update the Team Director and team members; consult regarding discharge planning and patient/family teaching Maintain continuity of care in coordinating with the care team and case manager for patients with ongoing needs Prescribe medication as permitted by the state and/or the state Board of Nursing Pre-Hospice Face-to-face clinical and needs assesment at intake, preferably in the patient's home setting, inclusive of patient's medical, emotional, spiritual, social, and practical needs Face-to-face reasssessment done when needed and at least every 60 days.
