Conducting initial patient assessments, preparing patients for procedures, and performing post-procedure monitoring to watch for complications like bleeding or changes in vital signs. Provide pre-procedure instructions, collect medication history, review lab results, and provide intake and assess patients during preoperative phase. Initiate care and discharge plan for patients after invasive procedures. Provide pre-procedure and follow-up phone calls for patients after invasive procedures. Effective communication and collaboration with physicians, technologists, and other staff are essential for providing safe and effective care. Coordinate care between the radiology department and other healthcare units. Assist in scheduling Interventional Procedures and CTA Coronary exams. Participates actively in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients. Participates in in services and staff training programs as required. Maintain cleanliness of rooms, adequate stock of supplies, and ensures regulatory compliance. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Other Duties Orients patient's family to new environment; develops rapport with patient's family. Assists in data collection and analysis of Quality Assurance/CQI monitors; participates in implementation of follow up action. Effectively utilizes the hospital computer system as it pertains to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy. Participates actively on Quality Improvement committees as assigned. Assists other personnel as needed. Keeps up-to-date with current trends pertinent to area of assignment. Participates in continuing education activities; attends mandatory scheduled in service programs; shares information gained at conferences with colleagues. Responds to hospital codes (Code 9, Code Blue, Nurse Control, etc., as assigned. Position Qualifications Current NJ licensure as RN required. BLS & IV certification required. ACLS required Minimum 2 years clinical experience required CRN preferred. One year radiology nursing care experience preferred. Good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position. Education Graduation from accredited school of Nursing required.
