Summary Provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Understands medicines, medication administration, medication complications, aseptic technique and universal precautions. Utilizes rational protection measures in accordance with Center protocols. Obtains an allergy history to evaluate risk factors that contra-indicate the use of intravenous contract material. Identifies early signs of contrast media reactions. Administers medications in a safe and proper manner including all aspects of moderate sedation preparation, administration, evaluation and complications management. Understands patient monitoring principles including the ability to recognize and react appropriately to life-threatening arrhythmias from the cardiac monitor. Understands oxygen therapy, manage an airway for resuscitation and manage all available forms of oxygen delivery devices. Maintains all forms of Point of Care Testing equipment and the ability to perform testing and/or quality control measures. Operates and troubleshoots the pulsimeter, maintains the Non-invasive Blood Pressure unit, Defibrillator/cardiac monitor and the ability to perform monitoring and/or quality control procedures. Supervising day-to-day nursing activities to guarantee residents receive top-quality care consistently. Collaborating with the Nursing Director to strategize nursing service operations and emergency support provisions for shifts.
