Job Summary The Pulmonary Hypertension Team Medical Assistant is responsible for coordinating administrative and clinical support services for patients with pulmonary hypertension. This role manages medication prior authorizations, referral processing and follow-up for both in-network and out-of-network services, and insurance authorizations for specialized diagnostic testing and procedures, including Right Heart Catheterizations (RHC), Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET), and Level I, II, and III services. Qualifications This position is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm • Escort patients to examination rooms; prepare patients for provider visits by conducting medication reconciliation, obtaining and documenting vital signs, height, and weight; and accurately record all clinical information in the electronic medical record to ensure complete and up-to-date patient documentation. • Supports patient care and the health care team by anticipating administrative functions requiring support including but not limited to preparing prior authorizations, participating with the approval process for medications as appropriate, monitoring clinical messaging, supporting providers with completion of patient follow up letters, updating the medical record with patient information under the guidance of the provider. • Learn and support the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) process by assisting with the coordination, preparation, submission, and follow-up of DME requests to ensure timely patient care and accurate documentation. Job Summary This position is: 40hrs, 3-13hr shifts, D/N rotation, weekend/holiday requirement Under general supervision and direction of the Cardiac Surgeons and Heart Center Intensivists, and in accordance with the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant practice, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be responsible for the care of patients on the Cardiac Surgical Service, primarily those patients that are admitted to the Cardiac Surgery/Heart Center Intensive Care Unit. We are a 3 room Ambulatory Endoscopy Center, providing care for patients having upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Candidate must have an RI Nursing license, ACLS, BLS, 1-2 years of Medical/Surgical experience Pre-op, PACU, and Endoscopy skills preferred. Good interpersonal and customer service skills are a must. Basic computer skills needed. This position is Per Diem Monday through Friday, flexible hours to cover the needs of the Center. No weekends, no holidays, no on-call.
