A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday rotation requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Manage the day-to-day operations of ambulatory procedural settings caring for hospitalized patients. Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in procedural settings to ensure quality of care. Anticipate and resolve patient care issues. Ensure continuity of patient care by actively participating in and facilitating communication and collaboration among and between department staff and other departments re: operational issues. Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. Provide ongoing clinical evaluation of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area. Counsel employees on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions, collaborates in monitoring attendance issues. Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues. Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees. Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross Two years of clinical experience Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills Good oral, written and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organizational skills.
