Nurse Practitioner-General Surgery

Job Description The General Surgery Nurse Practitioner complements and assists the work of the attending faculty, surgical fellow, and surgical residents to provide integrative inpatient and outpatient care for the surgery services, which include acute care, gastrointestinal, bariatric, colorectal, hepatopancreatobiliary, surgical oncology, breast, plastic, and endocrine surgery. The General Surgery Nurse Practitioner serves as a high-level professional, whose activities span the full range of care of adult surgical patients, taking responsibility for the safe delivery of care under the supervision of attending physicians and residents. Full assumption of these responsibilities will follow a training period, during which time the General Surgery Nurse Practitioner will be monitored by a physician supervisor to determine that knowledge and skills have reached the appropriate level. The Nurse Practitioner will meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Section Chief of General Surgery, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated. Qualifications Required qualifications: Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing recognized Nurse Practitioner Program with a master’s or doctoral degree aligned with the patient population and clinical role. Two to Three (2-3) years of previous experience as a registered nurse in an Acute Care Setting with surgical patients. Preferred Qualifications Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities to care for General Surgery patients in the following categories: acute care, gastrointestinal, bariatric, colorectal, hepatopancreatobiliary, surgical oncology, breast, plastic, and endocrine surgery. Two (2) years or greater Acute Care NP experience in an acute care setting with the General Surgery patient population within the past five years. Completion of an advanced practice fellowship in a surgical specialty and ability to provide evidence of completion. License/Cerification California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Adult Hybrid Inpatient and Outpatient (ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC). Job Description Reporting to the Director of Operations for Hematology, Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies (HBC), the Director of Nursing, HBC is a clinical leader and contributes to the development of UCSF Health and the Cancer Center’s strategic goals and objectives as well as overall standards of nursing practice. The Director of Nursing is a member of the HBC management team and works within the framework of the mission and values established by UCSF Health. The Director of Nursing oversees all adult HBC faculty practices clinical operations, systems and processes, providing direct and indirect supervision of administrative and clinical staff in multiple departments including; malignant hematology, nonmalignant hematology, blood & marrow transplant and cellular therapies. The Director of Nursing ensures exemplary provision of care to research and standard-of-care patients in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Working in a matrixed environment, the Director of Nursing partners to develop systems for integration with the broader health system (e.g. infusion, radiation oncology, inpatient services, pharmacy, imaging, labs, UC satellite locations). Advanced Practice Provider Manager

Job Description The summary purpose of the APP Manager is to provide leadership for the health system and advanced health providers in the development and implementation of ongoing quality improvement through an array of regulatory compliance, policies and programs, funding/funds flow/productivity, training and technical assistance, data and information sharing, and partnerships and collaborations.
