The role of the Associate Medical Assistant is to provide care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) needed in Brooklyn Well-staffed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center 3pm-11pm JOB DESCRIPTION: The Certified Nursing Assistant works directly under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and performs duties in a relation to the personal needs of the resident, care of supplies and equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness, comfort and safety of the resident in his/her environment. REPORTS TO: Charge Nurse, Supervisor and Director of Nursing Services (DNS) Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to write legibly. Physically able to perform the required duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant. Experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care or long-term care setting. RESPONSIBILITIES: Residents Provides or assists with bed bath, tub bath, whirlpool and showers. (Supervises safety of same.) Provides personal grooming: i.e. hair, nails, shaving, personal clothing, mouth care, perineal care. Prepares laundry for pick-up and return. Checks resident's body for skin care: i.e. rash, any discoloration or edema. Feeding and Assisting with Feeding (when necessary) Provides calm, pleasant environment.
