Essential Functions: Delivers quality nursing care to assigned group of patients by collecting data and identifying deviations from normal; assists with reassessing patients according to assignments, need and unit protocol and/or hospital policy under the direction of the registered nurse. Accurately and thoroughly documents all findings in the patient record and identifies expected outcomes based on assessment data; effectively communicates pertinent assessment findings with other health care members. Implements nursing care interventions identified in the individualized multidisciplinary treatment plan using accepted standards of practice in collaboration with other health care providers; performs nursing procedures/treatments as prescribed by physician/LIP. Conducts specified bedside laboratory tests, wound care, and provides for comfort and assistance in the performance of ADLs; Promotes the patient's ability to cope, adapt and/or solve situations related to illness and/or stressors. Provides supportive, age appropriate communication and culturally acceptable interventions and documents special needs. Provides for the safe delivery of medications in accordance with the facility policies and physician orders; administers medications utilizing established safety procedures / standards. Ensures patients are effectively assessed prior to and after medication administration. Accurately communicates/documents medication doses prescribed, and provides patient education on medication administered. Follows up on patient care responsibilities; communicates incomplete assignments and patient needs with other disciplines to assure continuity of care; transcribes orders accurately and performs chart audits of transcription accurately and according to facility guidelines. Utilizes nursing knowledge to successfully meet the needs of the facility, patient population and staff members. Utilizes nursing resources to enhance evidence-based practice. Guides, educates, and provides leadership as a preceptor to new staff. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties: • Accurately interview patient and record patient history and measure and record vital signs such as height, weight, BMI, head circumference, current medications, pulse oximetry level and patient comfort level. • Verify patient information such as, but not limited to demographics, insurance, vitals and medications; complete intake process including verifying and entering patient data into EHR/EPM. • Perform duties such as greeting and assisting patients in a courteous and professional manner, answer telephone and provide information as necessary, verify patient information, etc. • Collect, perform, document, and report results of CLIA waived lab tests including, but not limited to: urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick blood glucose levels, fecal occult blood tests, rapid influenza tests, and rapid strep tests. • Collect, prepare and document specimen collection including, but not limited to: blood, urine, stool, and sputum. • Perform clinical duties as assigned including, but not limited to: preparing patients for examinations and /or treatments, assisting provider with exams or procedures, setting up exam or procedure rooms, and preparing instruments for sterilization. • Complete pre visit planning to support the clinical visit. • Administer medications per CUC formulary. • Perform medical acts as prescribed by Standing Delegation Orders. • Dismiss patient at end of clinic visit including completing the orders documented in the orders module, tasks, and patient plan. • Participate in orientation of new employees and attend mandatory meetings. • Work as a team member, interacting with staff, patients and providers to communicate and coordinate patient care and work flow effectively. • Coordinate and manage patient care including communicating test results to patient, assist with pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Follow up on diagnostic test to ensure that test have been completed and documentation is completed in EHR. • Perform surveillance programs to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit • Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas as per CUC guidelines • As assigned, may serve as a scribe accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the provider, including but not limited to the following duties: o Patient medical history and physical exam, o Procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, including nurses and physician assistants. o Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits. o Provider-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up o Prepare referral letters as directed by the provider • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: MINIMUM EDUCATION: • Graduation from high school or equivalent. • Medical Assistant Diploma and/or National Medical Assistant Certification verifying graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent military healthcare experience. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: • Completion of a medical assistant externship REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Will be required to maintain a current CPR certification during employment.

Schedule: Part-Time Monday thru Friday Department: RHC Women's Health JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the health care provider, this position is a Certified Medical Assistant and is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures. Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider. Obtains and records vital signs including, but to limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem. Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic and/or inhalant administration. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG’s. Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing. Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician. Prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly. Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the Practice Manager or healthcare provider(s). Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required. Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights Performs other duties as assigned by Practice Manager, Clinic Coordinator, Clinic Director or healthcare provider(s). BASIC SKILLS Basic computer skills EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED High school diploma or GED Current Medical Assistant Certification with a national registry Basic Life Support or able to obtain within 60 days of hire 1 year of medical assisting/clinical experience is preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
