Attendance and Communication Expectations Dependability is essential in home care. Caregivers must: Arrive on time for every accepted assignment. Confirm assignments according to company procedures. Maintain reliable telephone communication. Respond promptly to scheduling messages. Notify the office immediately if an emergency affects attendance. Follow all call-off procedures. Clock in and out from the approved client location. Remain with the client until the scheduled end of the shift. Remain until properly relieved when continuous care is required. Never leave a client unattended when supervision is required. Never leave early without office authorization. Notify the office if a client or family asks them to arrive late, leave early or change the scheduled hours. Complete all required documentation before the end of the shift. Failure to report for an accepted shift, leaving a client without authorization or failing to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the assignment or additional corrective action. Communicate professionally with clients, office staff and approved facility personnel. Complete accurate electronic documentation during every shift. Have reliable access to a smartphone. Attendance and Communication Expectations Dependability is essential in home care. Caregivers must: Arrive on time for every accepted assignment. Confirm assignments according to company procedures. Maintain reliable telephone communication. Respond promptly to scheduling messages. Notify the office immediately if an emergency affects attendance. Follow all call-off procedures. Clock in and out from the approved client location. Remain with the client until the scheduled end of the shift. Remain until properly relieved when continuous care is required. Never leave a client unattended when supervision is required. Never leave early without office authorization. Notify the office if a client or family asks them to arrive late, leave early or change the scheduled hours. Complete all required documentation before the end of the shift. Failure to report for an accepted shift, leaving a client without authorization or failing to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the assignment or additional corrective action. Documentation Requirements Caregivers must document services accurately and in real time. Background and Screening Requirements Applicants must: Complete a comprehensive background check covering up to 15 years, where legally permitted. Complete required abuse, neglect and sex-offender registry checks. Complete a pre-employment drug screening when applicable. Participate in random drug screening when required by company policy. Provide complete and accurate application information. Report criminal charges or legal changes that may affect their ability to provide safe care. Caregivers must immediately report any change affecting their driver’s license, insurance, vehicle availability or ability to transport clients safely. Attendance and Communication Expectations Dependability is essential in home care. Caregivers must: Arrive on time for every accepted assignment. Confirm assignments according to company procedures. Maintain reliable telephone communication. Respond promptly to scheduling messages. Notify the office immediately if an emergency affects attendance. Follow all call-off procedures. Clock in and out from the approved client location. Remain with the client until the scheduled end of the shift. Remain until properly relieved when continuous care is required. Never leave a client unattended when supervision is required. Never leave early without office authorization. Notify the office if a client or family asks them to arrive late, leave early or change the scheduled hours. Complete all required documentation before the end of the shift. Failure to report for an accepted shift, leaving a client without authorization or failing to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the assignment or additional corrective action. Documentation Requirements Caregivers must document services accurately and in real time. Required documentation may include: Completed care-plan tasks Personal care provided Meals and hydration Medication reminders Toileting and incontinence care Repositioning Blood glucose-related support Client behavior and mood Changes in condition Skin observations Incidents Office notifications Transportation Incomplete tasks and the reason they were not completed Caregivers must never mark a task complete when it was not performed. Background and Screening Requirements Applicants must: Complete a comprehensive background check covering up to 15 years, where legally permitted. Complete required abuse, neglect and sex-offender registry checks. Complete a pre-employment drug screening when applicable. Participate in random drug screening when required by company policy. Provide complete and accurate application information. Report criminal charges or legal changes that may affect their ability to provide safe care. Have no disqualifying history that would prevent safe employment, subject to applicable laws and individual review.
