($7,500.00 for those with less than one year of experience) Position Summary: Assist physician with duties necessary to support the needs of the practice working within and to the maximum scope of license Education, License & Cert: LPN ‐ license based on corresponding position location Experience: One‐year experience in healthcare field preferred but not required Essential Functions: 1. Directs patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam or treatment by identifying height, weight, respirations, blood pressure, temperature, additional testing, and records same on chart. Will also interview patient to obtain history allergies, reconciles medication list and records on chart as requested. 2. Write or call Rx after obtaining surgeon/provider authorization for all department surgeons/providers as needed. Chart as written in patient's chart 3. Email, fax or call in any insurance referrals. Follow up phone call with referral number to specialist if requested. 4. Assists in smooth departmental operation by filling in for other LPNs, clinical assistant and MOA's as requested. Answers telephone and performs other clerical functions as necessary (screen calls according to urgency and need). Must train and maintain proficiency in the use of computer equipment and other computer program training as requested. Attends to exam and procedure rooms, including assurance that proper supplies are on hand, maintain order and cleanliness. Order medications or clinical supplies for the department as requested. 6. Administers prescribed injections/medications and records them on patient's chart 7. Routes patient after exam to proper area for ancillary testing or follow‐up appointments, i.e. Blood work, x‐rays, and enter lab testing as requested. 8. Basic knowledge of medications (side effects/contraindications, etc.) 9. Be able to read and review pathology results with patients 10. Setup and tear down sterile fields 11. Basic knowledge of surgical instruments 12. Prepare surgical trays as needed for procedures for the day. 13. Assist surgeon with operative procedures both in the office and Operating Room if necessary 14. Maintain infection control measures including but not limited to proper cleaning of surgical equipment and use of autoclave 15. Proficient with autoclave sterilization process 16. Knowledge and proficiency of dressing changes and suture removal 17. Assess signs and symptoms of infection and reporting to surgeon and/or provider 18. Hepatitis checks and protocol to protect surgeon, patient, and nurse Other Duties: 1. As assigned as appropriate for LPN licensure 2. Safe Discharge/Discharge Planning - Contributes to or initiates discharge plan upon day of admission and participates in interdisciplinary planning. - Completes all pre-discharge checklist items. - Always gives patient correct forms and discharge instructions by using 2 patient identifiers. - Provides patient a safe discharge and appropriate follow-up information and community resources are in place. Equipment Use - Demonstrates knowledge and ability to use equipment safely and effectively. - Utilizes hospital equipment per policy (i.e., guardrails for IV pumps, alarm settings). - Uses patient lift equipment per policy at all times. The navigator must demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical record systems and data tracking tools to document patient interactions, monitor outcomes, and contribute to performance improvement initiatives aligned with American Burn Association verification standards. This role demands strong clinical judgment, advanced organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while collaborating closely with surgeons, nursing staff, rehabilitation services, and community partners. Additionally, the position requires emotional resilience and adaptability to support patients and families experiencing significant physical and psychological trauma, ensuring no gaps in care and maintaining a high standard of patient-centered, coordinated service delivery. Job Summary: The Ambulatory Float Nurse Manager assumes primary leadership and management of defined clinical nursing areas to facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality nursing care and to manage the environment in which care is given. Major functions include: goals, planning, customer service/marketing, standards, certification and accreditation, administrative management, budget/cost containment, communication, and education.
