The RN is responsible for appropriate admission and placement of all patients into HUP, by evaluating appropriateness of admission and level of care for all patients and using clinical knowledge to assign the most appropriate bed to each patient. In the absence of the Pre-Cert RN, the Bed Management/Transfer Center Revaluates appropriateness of admission and level of care for all patients and can require a buy-back agreement for patients transferring from outside facilities.
