You maintain an even distribution of patients for the assigned nurse practitioner or pediatrician and keep exam rooms properly stocked with medical and educational materials. You assist patients to X-ray, lab, or the ED when needed, set up nebulizer treatments, and monitor patients. You are responsible for documenting in the medical record and completing school or camp forms. After consulting with the provider, you reinforce education and health information with parents, guardians, or patients. You answer a variety of medical questions or refer them to the doctor or nurse practitioner when necessary.
