Position Summary Plans, coordinates and implements the quality management and improvement programs for the hospital. Monitors and provides assistance with quality assurance and compliance functions. Provides direction to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards with emphasis on quality assurance. To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Medical Staff Quality Assessment Program. Ensures policies and procedures are monitored and updated to include regulatory changes. Description The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with mandated clinical orientation, competency assessment and interventions in the assigned clinical program of designated nursing staff within the Medical Center. This individual interfaces directly with MSMC Departments, Administrators, Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership, and Clinical Staff, managing the educational and operational impact of all clinical care delivery, staff performance, and outcome measures to support clinical practice. Responsibilities 1. Oversees clinical operations within the program, using data and fact-based problem solving techniques to improve processes and outcomes. Ensures that all clinical initiatives run according to institutional and departmental policies and in accordance with any government or regulatory requirements as applicable. 2. Recruits, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, mentors, disciplines, and evaluates staff in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. Communicates values, strategies, and objectives of department or division on a regular basis. Assigns accountabilities, delegates tasks and responsibilities, and plans, monitors and appraises job performance. 3. Description The Nurse Manager (NM) is responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/service setting such as inpatient, procedural, emergency department or ambulatory care. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, daily staffing (as supported by the Center-Led Staffing Model), employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical record documentation, compliance with internal and external regulatory agency requirements and patient safety solution/corrective action plans. The Nurse Manager collaborates with multiple professionals to support and coordinate the provision / management of patient care inclusive of the patient admission throughout the discharge process appropriate to the setting. Responsibilities PATIENT CARE 1. Description The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with mandated clinical orientation, competency assessment and interventions in the assigned clinical program of designated nursing staff within the Medical Center. Description The Nurse Manager (NM) is responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/service setting such as inpatient, procedural, emergency department or ambulatory care.
