Description The (Per Diem) Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Responsibilities Patient Care 1. Delivers patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based upon theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. 2. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. 3. Coordinates with the Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Nursing Shift Manager to ensure supplies are appropriately utilized and inventory is sufficient for patient care. 3. Escalates material or staffing resource deficits to charge nurse, Clinical Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager or Nursing Shift Manager. 4. Demonstrates patient focused and cost effective approaches to patient care in terms of equipment, staff, supplies and all other resources. 5. Documents in an accurate and thorough manner in compliance with hospital, regulatory and legal requirements and standards of care. Professional Development 1. Completes assigned clerical duties, such as computer data entry, photocopying, filing, answering the phone, retrieval of therapy-related documentation, and other paperwork. Maintains a record of equipment maintenance and cleaning schedule as assigned by the therapist manager/s. Performs other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor. Exhibits courtesy, compassion, and respect to patients, residents, families, caregivers, visitors, physicians, administrators, and co-workers. Adheres to established confidentiality standards, including but not limited to HIPPA regulations and internal company policies. Rehab Aide Requirements Include: High school diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in a health care setting preferred. Current certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) required . Writes and understands English; Basic computer skills. Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers. Demonstrates good organizational and interpersonal skills. Interested in assisting those in need, and enjoy working with the elderly.
