Job Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is at the forefront of Proactive MD’s clinical operations and is a champion of our Patient Promise: “We are only and always about the patient. As directed by the provider and Health Center Nurse Manager, the CMA assists the provider and performs appropriate tests and procedures. The CMA is responsible for administrative tasks for the health and wellness center and may assist in employee/patient engagement and outreach. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties Interviews patients measure vital signs and record information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment May document the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to draw blood and confident in blood draw skills High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association valid for at least 90 days after start date Experience working with Pediatric patients Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds Ability to prioritize needs and plan work accordingly Knowledge of HIPAA Certification in hearing and fit testing preferred or willing to get certified. Provide administrative duties to include but not limited to opening/closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow up, verifying insurance and collecting payment, maintaining a clean environment. Be responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routine examinations to ensure positive patient health outcomes Perform duties including speaking with patients about healthy lifestyle choices, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain a comprehensive plan of care Encourage patients to become active participants in their own healthcare and well-being through services such as health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, chronic condition management Required Qualifications Provide holistic, evidenced-based care inclusive of accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for our patients. Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment Depending on the market, the ability to be proficient in both speaking and writing in additional languages not limited to but including Spanish Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including but not limited to performing CPR and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Pass a FIT test and wear the provided respirator mask when protocol requires. Preferred Qualifications If less than 1 year of work experience as a licensed provider, prior student precepting rotation with MinuteClinic is preferred, but not required. Epic experience preferred Education Master's Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $41.85 - $90.13 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
