Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Job Description The Registered Nurse will serve as a designated staff member for IPU-B, a specialized neurodevelopmental inpatient unit designed to provide care for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders and differences, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who are experiencing a mental health or behavioral health crisis. The Registered Nurse will support a safe, therapeutic, and structured milieu tailored to the unique developmental and behavioral needs of this patient population. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing required. Associates degree in nursing may be considered with equivalent experience in lieu of BSN as long as candidate agrees to return for BSN within 1 year of hire. Current licensure as a registered nurse, active and in good standing, in the State of Illinois. Basic Life Support certification through America Heart Association. Ability to effectively communicate with patient/families, physicians and hospital staff. Pediatric experience preferred. Psych experience strongly preferred..
