PACU is located on the third floor of the Pavilion and Kelemen building. There is also an area on Pavilion 2. Patients here can often be sent home following the procedure or are admitted to the hospital. This is based upon the procedure performed and the necessary recovery needed. If admitted the patient is transferred to the appropriate floor for continued recovery and discharge. The PACU sees infants to geriatrics. Here the patients are closely monitor while they are waking up from the anesthesia they received during the procedure. Depending on the procedure and the orders received from the physicians the patient will be discharged home or admitted to the hospital. Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): The nurse utilizes data and QI methods to identify potential and actual problems and opportunities to provide care that is safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable. Credentials: RN with state licensure RN (Required) If providing telehealth (video or phone) or direct patient care to individuals residing outside Pennsylvania, the employee must obtain and maintain an appropriate multistate compact license or individual state licenses as required prior to service delivery (Required) BLS/ACLS/PALS per specialty (Required) Certification in specialty (Preferred) Education or Equivalent Experience: Diploma or ASN from an accredited school of nursing And more than 15 months of relevant professional nursing experience. (Required) Bachelor's Degree BSN from an accredited school of nursing And more than 15 months relevant professional nursing experience.
