Tillotson Ave., Muncie, IN Schedule: Monday–Friday with rotating start and end times to support patient access needs. Example schedules: Week 1: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Week 2: 7:15 AM – 4:00 PM Week 3: 7:15 AM – 5:00 PM Week 4: One late shift (Monday or Wednesday 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM), remaining days 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, plus rotating Saturday coverage Weekend Requirement: One rotating Saturday per month (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) Benefits Designed for You 401(k) with employer match Tuition reimbursement Student loan forgiveness eligibility Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Healthy Results Wellness Program with bi‑weekly incentives In this high-volume pediatric clinic, Medical Assistants play a vital role in keeping patient care flowing efficiently throughout the day. Responsibilities include: Rooming patients and obtaining clinical information Administering immunizations Performing point-of-care testing Supporting refill requests and clinical pools Completing pre-visit planning activities Assisting with patient documentation and provider paperwork Collaborating with providers and teammates to deliver exceptional care Patient-facing responsibilities are the priority, and flexibility to support different providers as needed is important. We're looking for candidates who: Enjoy working with children and families Are dependable and reliable Thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment Work well with others and contribute positively to the team Stay organized and adaptable throughout a busy day Previous pediatric experience is preferred Outpatient clinic experience is beneficial Strong customer service and teamwork skills Under the supervision of the designated supervisor and assigned physician, performs duties associated with direct patient care and clinical direction to provide patient care given in accordance with the organization standards. Assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, assures smooth patient flow, performs general lab work, instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments and needs, and ensures medical orders and referrals are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Performs registration and scheduling activities per organizational and departmental procedures. Maintains EMR files and performs general front office functions as needed. May perform computerized physician order entry, only if directed by assigned physician. Expected to precept current MA team members or MA Externs as requested by leadership. AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from a Medical Assistant program required. Current certification in medical assisting required from America Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Center for competency Testing (NCMA), and/or American Medical Certification Association (CMAC). Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required. TB validated (to administer or read) or validation obtained within 6 months of hire preferred. Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs and concepts within 6 months of hire. Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures. Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers. Ability to master standard clinical competencies per current Clinical policy, Point of Care and Skills Competency checklists. Requires basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills.
