Job Summary: The LPN is responsible for providing nursing care to the patient under the direction of a physician or health care provider in a Multi-Specialty Clinic. Functions and Duties: Assists physicians with patient office visits, including putting patients in rooms, interviewing patients, recording vital signs including pulse rate, blood pressure, height and weight, and enters information in patient’s electronic medical record. Performs select clinical tests, manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Administers and documents medication under physician’s order. Organizes exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and re-stocking of supplies. Responsible for collecting equipment for a procedure; assisting during the procedure or examination; and cleaning up afterward. Fields patient telephone calls and responds accordingly. Demonstrates appropriate hand washing technique to insure proper infection control and follows universal precautions. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Responsible for collecting specimens, such as urine, or performing phlebotomy duties to obtain blood for lab tests. Performs all other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education Graduate of an accredited school for licensed practicing nurses. Experience 6 – 12 months of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.
