Assists with basic procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection within the scope of practice. Participates in the orientation and training of new staff or nursing students as assigned. Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure the delivery of coordinated care. Prepares and maintains equipment and supplies necessary for patient care. Responds to medical emergencies and supports code team interventions within the scope of competency. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications 0-1 years of experience as an LPN in a healthcare setting required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of nursing principles, medication administration, and patient care practices. Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: What You Will Do: Assist the surgical team in Endoscopy by preparing operating rooms and supporting procedures under the supervision of the circulating nurse Verify correct surgical site, assist with patient transport as needed, and prepare the pre‑operative site Review OR schedules, note changes to procedures, and gather required equipment, instruments, and supplies based on surgeon preference cards Perform surgical scrub, don sterile gown and gloves, and participate in opening and maintaining the sterile field Instrument surgical cases, pass instruments to surgeons, and anticipate needs to support uninterrupted procedures Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts in accordance with policy Assist with prepping and draping patients and gowning and gloving surgical team members Prepare sterile dressings and ensure all equipment is functioning properly, reporting any malfunctions, and more. Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 hour shifts Start and end times depend on department’s scheduled procedures Start times between 6 am and 8 am End times between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm Later starts on Thursdays Minimal on "call" rotation dependent on department need, 30-minute response time. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program; graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency. CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa. LPN license required if graduate of LPN program. No prior experience required. Previous endo/GI experience preferred.
