Observes and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse immediately. Registered Medication Aide RMA reports and when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents. Submit incident/accident reports to supervisor or Administrator within twentyfour (24) hours after their occurrence. Communicates with medical staff, nursing service and other department supervisors. Registered Medication Aide RMA supervises care staff in absence of nurses. Maintains, cleans and organizes the Medication Room. Maintains a liaison with other department supervisors to adequately plan for resident activities. Attends all required training, in-service and staff meetings May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals. May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc, including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
