Providing direct patient care, such as personal hygiene care, positioning, ambulating, transporting, nutritional intake/ feeding, obtaining specimens and performing blood sugar checks. Performing routine patient care and administrative procedures on the unit such as dressing changes, calculating body intake and output measures and shift totals. Assisting with patient admission and/or discharge by setting up special equipment and recording vital signs. Assisting with intravenous therapy by gathering equipment for starting IV fluids, preparing the patient as directed by the Registered Nurse and monitoring IV rate. Assists the Registered Nurse in patient status evaluation by reporting patient information such as vital signs or response to nursing actions such as pain management interventions. Verbally reports to the nurse significant changes in patient's physical and cognitive condition. Documents patient information such as vital signs, intake and output on appropriate forms promptly, clearly and completely as stipulated in the Nursing Documentation policy. The nurse graduate may administer medications under the DIRECT supervision of an RN. The nurse graduate may NOT administer medications independently. Performs CPR as needed. Follows institutional infection control guidelines. Follows/implements established institutional/unit policies and procedures to ensure patient safety. Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors and other members of the health care team, demonstrating positive guest relations skills and treating patient information confidentially. Performs general support services for the unit and patient which may include running unit errands, procuring equipment, and taking and relaying messages accurately and timely. Work Experience Minimum Education, Experience, And License/Certification Required Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required. Job Summary and Qualifications The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Frankfort Regional Medical Center provides you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospital environment. This paid program will assist you with the transition out of the classroom setting through a formalized series of learning experiences, including: Advanced clinical training in a specialty area. The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience. What will you do in this role: Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication. Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP is required for the Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU).

Job Description Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Nursing Resident to join our CICU team in Wilmington, DE! Early 2027 start!! This is a full-time position. The nurse residency program is a rigorous program consisting of a 6-month precepted program which includes both didactic and clinical experience, with an additional 6 months of didactic support. The program is supported by a variety of learning opportunities and experiences. Each patient room has electrocardiographic, pulse oximetry, respiratory, hemodynamic and intracranial pressure monitoring capability, as well as central EKG and respiratory monitoring. Portable monitoring during patient transport is provided. Special equipment includes; radiant warmer beds, heating/cooling blanket systems, Mapleson manual ventilation system, end tidal CO2 monitors, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, intracranial pressure monitoring system, ventriculostomy systems, infusion pumps, blood warmer, continuous renal replacement systems, and peripheral nerve stimulators. This Critical Care Department provides patient care, performs research, and educates and trains health care professionals consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Nemours Foundation. Essential Responsibilities Assesses and documents initial and ongoing needs for children with complex medical and surgical needs. Utilizes critical thinking to formulate nursing plan based on patients complex needs and problems. Formulates nursing plan based on patient complex needs and problems and indicates plan on the patient care plan. Develops realistic and appropriate long- and short-term goals based patient/family needs. Implements patient plan of care for patients and family with both critical and complex needs.
