This dynamic team operates under a 24/7 staffing model that integrates Intensivists and APPs to provide expert care for high-acuity patients. Our CVTU manages complex cases and patient populations including: Cardiogenic shock Advanced Heart Failure LVAD Heart Transplant Pulmonary Hypertension Post-Cardiac Arrest Post-Cath Lab Patients You will have the opportunity to be privileged in procedures such as arterial line, central line, dialysis catheter, and pulmonary artery catheter insertions and manage mechanical circulatory support devices such as IABPs and Impellas. Pay Range: $54.90 - $82.35 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical responsibilities: Assesses, diagnoses, and determines/alters treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity and clinical condition. This includes ordering, performing, and interpreting appropriate diagnostic studies and prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and therapies. Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives. Provides health promotion, disease prevention and disease management counseling and education of patients and families. Manages patients as part of an interdisciplinary team and within scope of practice. Seeks physician or other healthcare team member consultation or referrals as appropriate. Escalates need for more emergent or specialized care when necessary. Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Substantiates and submits professional services consistent with compliant coding and billing practices. Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team and/or health or community agencies. Performs office or hospital procedures in accordance with specialty practice, competency and granted privileges (where applicable). About this Job: Inpatient Solid Tumor Nurse Practitioner MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a qualified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our inpatient Solid Tumor Oncology team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. As part of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, our oncology team provides specialized care for patients with a broad range of solid tumor malignancies. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with medical oncologists, fellows, residents, nursing, pharmacy, case management, palliative care, and other multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive inpatient care for patients throughout their cancer treatment journey. This position is full-time (1.0 FTE) and primarily dedicated to the inpatient setting. The ACNP will work closely with the attending medical oncologist, fellows, residents, and interdisciplinary care team to manage hospitalized oncology patients, participate in daily rounds, coordinate diagnostic and treatment plans, respond to changes in clinical status, and facilitate safe and timely transitions of care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing medically complex oncology patients and will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
