Job Overview The Director of Patient Care Services for Maternal Fetal & Neonatal Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for highly specialized maternal, fetal, neonatal, and perinatal care programs. This role has oversight of the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), Labor and Delivery, and Maternal/Fetal Care services within the Colorado Fetal Care Center, ensuring seamless, high-quality care delivery across the full continuum—from prenatal diagnosis through delivery and neonatal care. The Director is responsible for developing and executing short- and long-term strategic plans that align with organizational priorities while advancing excellence in clinical care, research, education, and advocacy. Working in close partnership with physician leaders, nursing leadership, and operational stakeholders, the Director establishes a shared vision, standardizes evidence-based practices, and drives superior clinical outcomes for complex and high-risk maternal and neonatal populations. The Director is responsible for developing and executing short- and long-term strategic plans that align with organizational priorities while advancing excellence in clinical care, research, education, and advocacy. Working in close partnership with physician leaders, nursing leadership, and operational stakeholders, the Director establishes a shared vision, standardizes evidence-based practices, and drives superior clinical outcomes for complex and high-risk maternal and neonatal populations. This role provides leadership for Clinical Managers and multidisciplinary teams within a nationally recognized, high-acuity environment that includes a Level IV, 82-bed NICU and one of the nation’s most advanced fetal care programs. The Director oversees operational performance, fiscal management across multiple cost centers, quality and safety initiatives, and workforce engagement, while serving as a liaison across hospital administration, academic partners, and external collaborators. The Director of Patient Care Services is also a key leader in managing complex or sensitive patient and family situations and in representing the organization through participation in regional and national professional forums. This role reports to the VP of Critical Services and plays a critical role in advancing coordinated, family-centered care for mothers and neonates facing routine to highly complex conditions. Duties & Responsibilities Collaborates with senior leadership to identify and develop organizational objectives. Provides leadership in developing and communicating short- and long-term departmental strategic plans and goals to team leaders and team members to secure buy-in. Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards to enhance clinical practice and professional growth. Certification(s): Certification as a Nurse Executive, Nurse Executive Advanced is required within two (2) years of hire if that is area of specialty Licensure(s): Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado is required at the time of hire. Salary Information Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $134,579.79 to $224,299.64 Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Transport Provider is responsible for managing the care and transport of children from referring facilities. This role requires proficiency in flight and ambulance treatment modalities, altitude physiology, and emergency procedures. Utilizing an advanced nursing process, the provider will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while accurately documenting patient responses and outcomes. This position requires proficiency in pediatric pathophysiology, assessment skills, emergency and critical care medical decision making, lab and radiology results interpretation, and procedural skills, including: intubation, surgical and needle cricothyrotomy, central and arterial line placement, finger and tube thoracostomy, UAC/UVC placement, intraosseous access, and lumbar puncture. In collaboration with physicians and referral teams, the provider must demonstrate strong leadership through nursing judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. As an advocate for patients and families, the provider must maintain professional conduct and communication. Additionally, knowledge of healthcare economics is necessary to ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
