Job Requirements POSITION SUMMARY To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team in an outpatient setting. The Oncology Clinic RN acts as a patient advocate, educator, and care coordinator for a specific patient population across the continuum of care. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES Coordinate the multidisciplinary team (physicians, advanced practice nurses and other support staff) approach to connect patients with integrated, comprehensive services, specific to their condition. Track, order completion and follow up. Monitor patient compliance with patient treatment plan and assist patients with referrals to outside resources and care coordination as needed. Serve as the central point of contact for all oncology navigated patients, including interactions with medical, nursing ancillary service providers. Provide education to patients, families, and significant others via phone or written consultation. Demonstrate efficiency with delegated orders and data entry with oncology EMR. Provide patient support and phone triage skills for the oncology population. Follows Chemotherapy dosing based on National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) or other Chemotherapy guidelines with coordination of complex chemotherapy regimens with infusion and pharmacy staff. Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the healthcare time, promoting effective team functioning. Assist with daily telephone triage for oncology patients. Maintain clinical competency as it pertains to the clinic duties assigned. Adheres to medication management and clinical procedures. Work Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma. Work Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience. Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida or endorsement. Certification: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Fundamentals of Administration Course completion through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) within six (6) months of hire or transfer if the Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate Course completion through ONS/ONCC has not already been obtained. BLS as issued by American Heart Association Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Oncology background in the clinic setting. Credentials And Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing required Registered Nurse (RN) RN-Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL, or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL (must declare FL as primary State of residence within 60 days from date of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi-state privileges) Basic Life Support (BLS) Responsibilities New-graduate nurses will initiate professional nursing practice careers in a supportive environment committed to mentoring, coaching and learning. Build confidence through a structured, professional transition-into-practice experience that is customized to individual developmental needs. Develop leadership skills that will positively impact the clinical practice environment and patient outcomes. Create and enhance professional networks and relationships with peers during the residency, while honing and developing clinical and leadership skills in a world-class academic medical institution. Scheduled eight-hour paid education days off the unit are offered for residents to participate in required class activities. The entire residency program length is 12 months with the inclusion of the department specific orientation that is either 12 or 16 weeks in length depending on the department. The Residency program also includes informal, one-on-one meetings at scheduled intervals throughout the program to provide additional support and to monitor the newly licensed nurse's progress. Residents will also participate in evaluation of their own individual progress as well as evaluation of the overall program. All Nurse Residents will be required to sign a Commitment Agreement, agreeing to work for a minimum of two (2) years in the Cancer Center as a Registered Nurse in good working standards complying with all polices and protocols of the Cancer Center. In the event the employee does not successfully complete the Nurse Residency Program or thereafter the commitment of two (2) full years of employment in the Cancer Center after completion of the program, employee agrees to refund the Cancer Center a pro-rated amount of the cost for the program. Graduate Nurse Salary Range $38.45 - $57.65 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
