Staff Nurse, Perioperative Services - Main Operating Room

Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse (Circulating/Scrub) position is to be accountable for achieving patient goals through creating and maintaining a safe environment for the patient undergoing procedures while anesthetized or sedated. The role of the circulating RN is patient centered, and is essential for timely delivery of quality care and optimal patient outcomes in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The OR nurse provides high quality nursing care through patient assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. Using sound nursing judgment, critical thinking skills, and interpersonal communication skills, the RN is able to ensure positive patient outcomes.
