Drain abscesses and perform incision and drainage procedures. Insert or remove sutures and staples. Manage wound care and provide dressing changes for chronic wounds, ulcers, or surgical sites. Evaluate and diagnose skin cancer. Collaborate with dermatologists to plan and implement treatment, which may include surgery, radiation therapy, or referrals to oncology specialists. Educate patients on proper skincare routines, sun protection, and lifestyle modifications. Counsel patients on the importance of early detection and prevention of skin cancer. Provide guidance on self-examination for suspicious moles or lesions. Prescribe and manage medications. Monitor patients for medication side effects and treatment response.
