RN Supervisor - Per Diem Night (only)

Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY To ensure in collaboration with the Nurse Manager that each neighborhood provide safe, appropriate and goal-directed care and to provide support and direct nursing staff. To be familiar with all policies and procedures. Be able to seek appropriate guidance as needed. Work in collaboration with medical doctors in emergent situations and support and promote family centered care and maintain effective communication with family members. The RN Supervisor will be responsible for working an on-site schedule of a 3-4 days/week including weekends. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills in change management, emotional intelligence and demonstrated leadership experience in a residential or behavioral health setting. The RN Supervisor will be included in a Nursing Leadership weekend rotation to ensure continuity of systems and protocols are maintained through the entire week. Provides staff with supervision, support and guidance necessary to implement nursing theory and practice and provide safe, appropriate goal directed care. Performs clinical evaluation for the physician on site and reports clinical findings for medical decisions. Guides and supervises the nursing staff in the delivery of nursing care, to ensure continuity of care and to evaluate the quality of total care provided on the evening and night tours of duty. Provides accurate, objective and thorough endorsement of resident status to oncoming management and to clinical status meetings when scheduled Initiates investigations of care issues and family concerns in a timely and thorough manner. This includes, but is not limited to, incident reports, medication errors and abuse and neglect reporting Collaborate with Nurse Manager, supervise and support nursing staff, including performance evaluations, coaching and counseling. Interprets policies and procedures for nursing staff and other services. Provides education and training as needed regarding policy and procedure. Provides input to Team Leaders on a regular basis regarding employee performance on their shift, and intervenes as necessary to provide coaching, counseling and/or progressive discipline. When providing same follows all rules of regulations of the Center, the SDOH and the 1199 bargaining unit. Takes responsibility to arrange coverage for scheduled shift if unable to provide coverage as planned. Displays flexibility and willingness to assure house coverage is provided when requested. Maintains accurate and clear records regarding changes in shift assignment in accordance with rules of the Center and the 1199 bargaining unit contract. Uses SBAR and other tools, such as 24 hours report to objectively document resident/family concerns Manages night medication cabinet and seeks solutions to obtain medication for residents if needed. Attends management meetings as required, this includes Operations Meetings and other Management Training as scheduled Rounds on Neighborhoods for the purpose of obtaining clinical information on residents, to support and educate staff, to assist with family issues and endorses complete information to next shift. Promotes 24 x7 accurate, objective clinical and administrative reports. Follow-up on status of residents transferred to other facilities and reports follow up to oncoming shift, Team Leader and physician Communicates effectively with Center Departments regarding resident/family needs on tour of duty and documents communication in a clear and concise manner. Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator. Qualifications Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited RN program B.S. N. (required); M.S.N. preferred RN in the State of New York BCLS certificate PALS certification preferred Completion of courses mandated for continuation of RN license, (ex. Infection Control course; Child Abuse course.) Experience Minimum of two years pediatric experience. Minimum of three years experience in supervisory role. Experience in pediatric and adolescent chronic and restorative nursing modalities preferred. Employee Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently. Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies. Must meet the general health requirements set fourth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds. Perform tasks that may involve exposure to the resident’s blood/body fluids. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary. Working Conditions: Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area. Will be subject to frequent interruptions. May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary. Hourly Rate: $80/Hr.

Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse position is to skillfully administer total patient care in accordance with Emergency Nursing Standards of Practice, provides leadership and clinical expertise in the assessing, planning and delivery of emergency care. POSITION SUMMARY: The CRNA will administer anesthesia for all types of surgical cases, in every setting in which anesthesia is delivered, in accordance with their expertise. CRNA's will administer anesthesia in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthetic preperation and evaluation (2) anesthesia induction, maintainance and emergence, (3) post-anesthesic care and (4) perianesthetic and clinical support functions. POSITION DUTIES: The CRNA will: administer anesthesia for all types of surgical cases, in every setting in which anesthesia is delivered, in accordance with their expertise, state statutes or regulations, and institutional policies: administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation (2) anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence (3) post-anesthesia care and (4) peri-anesthetic and clinical support functions which may include: general, MAC, regional, or local anesthesia. Selecting, obtaining and administering the anesthetic, adjuvant drugs and fluid necessary to manage the anesthetic, to maintain the patient's physiologic homoestasis and to correct abnormal responses to the anesthesia or surgery. Selecting, applying and inserting appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitioring modalities for collecting and interpreting patient physiological data. Managing a patient's airway and pulmonary status using endotracheal intubation, mechnaical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy or extubation. Releasing or discharging patients from a post-anesthesia care area and providing post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care related to anesthesia side effects or complications. Ordering, initiating or modifying pain relief therapy, through the utilization of drugs, regional anesthetic techniques, or other accepted pain relief modalities, including epidural analgesia. Responding to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques. Provide clinical support services outside of the operating room, including but not limited to radiology, endoscopy, emergency department, invasive labs. Upon request or referral for these services, the CRNA will provide consultation and implementation of respiratory and ventilatory care, identify and manage emergency situations, including the initiation or participation in cardiopulmonary resuscitation that involves airway maintenance, ventilation, tracheal intubation, pharmacologic, cardiopulmonary support, management of blood, fluid, electrolyte and acid-base balance. Additional nurse anesthesia responsibilities which are within the expertise of the individual CRNA, as authorized by Medical Staff and stated in the policy and procedure manuals. Non-clinical responsibilities as applicable : Clinical and didactic teaching, supervision and evaluation of students; interdepartmental liaison, member of departmental committees; research participant. Maintains a positive demeanor, proactively helpful to patients, physicians and staff; r emains flexible and alters/accepts various tasks and assignments as they arise, per the Director’s requests or designee. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education: Required: Holds a current state license as a registered nurse in the state of Louisiana and complies with any applicable state statutory and/or regulatory requirements concerning the advanced practice of nursing. Graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) or its predecessor. License/Certification: Required: Possess certification by the Council on Certification or recertification by the Council on Recertification or their respective predecessors; if pending initial certification, evidence of graduation from an approved nurse anesthesia educational program. Current BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications, as applicable. Skills: Demonstrates knowledge of principles of anesthesia practices. Must be able to operate all anesthesia equipment and to recognize equipment malfunction. Must be able to read written directions and to write legibly. Must be able to communicate effectively with students, residents, physicians, patients, visitors and hospital staff.
