Overview Supervisor Clinical Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit - PACU, Evening Shift 11am - 9pm Responsible for patient flow and overall day to day operations that impact the care unit or department. Provides direct oversight of care to support patient and staff needs. Serves as a role model and leader to uphold institutional priorities, policies and practices. Responsibilities Collaborates and assist with operations by functioning as the first line supervisor to staff. Acts as a resource to staff to provide direct assistance or connect with appropriate resources. Participates in performance management of staff members to including coaching, preparation of performance evaluations, and the performance management process. Initiates disciplinary action as appropriate. Works with the staff to facilitate patient flow and to optimize clinical capacity. Determines when and how to flex staff schedules to provide clinical coverage. Facilitates timely throughput to optimize clinical capacity within the organization. Performs service recovery to promote patient and employee retention. Responds to staff and patient/family needs. Addresses conflicts as they may arise. Assists/mediates discussions to maintain smooth operations. Participates in institutional Quality and Patient Safety improvement initiatives, committees and projects. Develops, plans, and coordinates the implementation and evaluation of orientation for new staff. Collaborates with the rest of the leadership team to assess and evaluate the clinical competence of department staff. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required. 2 years of progressive responsibility within an acute care setting required. Specialty certification preferred. Must obtain and maintain clinical competencies within assigned unit. Excellent written, verbal and computer skills required. Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork. Ability to work effectively in groups of employees and with patients and patient families is essential. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing (BSN) at time of hire. Administer Lexiscan per protocol for pharmacological stress test when ordered 3. Serve as a clinical resource for physicians and department staff 4. Plans, organizes, and coordinates with multiple departments to expedite effective inpatient and outpatient flow. 5. Independently apply, analyze, and generate reports for Holter monitors per protocol. 6. Maintain department and work area in a clean and organized manner. Exercises care with equipment operation and has a working knowledge of all equipment. 7. Maintains department logs, and schedules. Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills. 8.
