Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator

Job Description Designs, implements, facilitates, and evaluates multi-disciplinary simulation-based education that promotes clinical excellence, patient safety, team collaboration, and evidence-based practice across Benioff Children’s Hospitals Oakland Sites. Collaborates with clinical leaders, educators, the Program Manager, and the Medical Director of Simulation to assess learning needs, develop curriculum, facilitate simulation and structured debriefing, and evaluate learner outcomes. Supports integration of simulation into the clinical setting with innovative techniques. The Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator applies advanced knowledge of simulation-based education to design, implement, facilitate, and evaluate multidisciplinary team training programs that strengthen clinical performance, teamwork, communication, and patient safety across pediatric care settings. This role partners with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to identify educational needs, develop and facilitate simulation-based learning experiences, lead structured debriefings, and evaluate program outcomes to improve clinical practice and systems of care. The Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator collaborates with the Program Manager, Medical Director of Simulation, and other key stakeholders to support the implementation, evaluation, continuous improvement, and growth of the simulation-based team training program. The Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator serves as an instructor and mentor for Simulation Clinical Facilitators and contributes to the ongoing development of simulation instructors and implementation of educational best practices. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Knowledge of pertinent regulatory and accrediting agency standards, educational program design, training for impact methodology, performance improvement methodology, facilitative leadership methodology, and simulation technology. Experience in design, development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary simulation (including standardized patients) programs using adult learning principles Detail-oriented, with proven organizational skills to effectively codify programs/policies, manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated teamwork leadership experience, excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. NURSE MANAGER

Department Description This position floats to the following three units: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Intermediate Care Nursery and Lucile Packard Special Care Nursery The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 40-bed Level IV nursery specializing in care for newborns, which includes the tiniest premature babies and critically ill neonatal infants with a variety of diagnoses and conditions, such as congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, metabolic disorders, and other congenital defects. Some of the interventions we do include ECMO, CVVH, Peritoneal Dialysis and Therapeutic Hypothermia. The Intermediate Care Nursery (ICN) is a 34-bed level II Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery designed to provide care to recovering newborns and those infants requiring level II care. The team cares for infants requiring direct admission from the Delivery Room, the Emergency Department, other hospitals, re-admissions from home, post-surgery cases, as well as more chronic conditions or premature infants from our Level IV NICU. The Lucile Packard Special Care Nursery is a 6-bed, Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located within Sequoia Hospital.
