The Pediatric Procedural Sedation Service at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital provides sedation for any medical procedure or test that is painful or anxiety-producing. The service includes elective procedures and both inpatients and outpatients. It is commonly used for CT Scans, EEG, Bronchoscopies, MR Imaging (MRI, MRA, MRV), Endoscopy (EGD, Colonoscopy), VCUG, PET Scans, Bone Marrow, Aspirations/Biopsies, Lumbar Punctures, Bone Scans, Liver/Kidney Biopsies, Radiation Treatments/Cyberknife, Skin Biopsies, Botulism Toxin Injections, PICC Line Placements, Dressing Changes, Hearing Evaluations (Auditory Brainstem Response), Interventional Radiology Procedures.
