Demonstrates proficiency and use of critical thinking skills when performing phone triage. Fulfills expectation of complete and accurate phone documentation by utilizing EMR workflows as directed. Promotes and encourages use of Children’s Connect by communicating with parents via online portal whenever feasible. By setting up the day with report and two-way communication, the RN is able to rely on the CNA to ensure that turns, bathing and feeding is getting done, which is less stress on their day and they are able to focus on their role as an RN to assess and carry out orders as they come. With 24/7 in-house critical care physicians and advanced practice providers, as well as dedicated pharmacists, social workers, nurse navigators, and dietitians, the Cardiac Care Unit offers a multidisciplinary, family-centered approach to care.
