The Supplemental Staffing department provides patient care excellence throughout all inpatient Medical Surgical Telemetry and Intensive Care units. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity . You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient centered care that is outcome directed. Documents or ensures documentation of all of patient care from admission to discharge according to hospital policies. Incorporates discharge planning into clinical pathway or plan of care to provide patients with smooth transition from hospital to home. Provides cost-effective care by appropriate utilization of time, supplies and personnel. Evaluates patient care interventions and collaborates with all team members to make changes as necessary. Initiates and/or participates in patient care conferences. Assumes the responsibility to interact on a consistent basis with the patient and family providing coordination of the care plan for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager.
