Nurse Manager, PACU - MGH

We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager to lead and support clinical operations across the PACU. The Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) at MGH are comprised of 7 individual critical care areas dedicated to the care of adult and pediatric patients preceding and immediately following surgery and/or procedures requiring anesthesia. The unit operates 24 hours per day with Anesthesia and Nurse Practitioner medical coverage. This is a full time evening position Bachelor's degree is nursing required and Master's degree in nursing is strongly preferred. May provide direct patient care. Essential Functions Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff onboarding, training, and education. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback for staff. Ensures a positive work environment that is safe for patients, visitors and staff. Coordinating unit activities with other hospital departments of the hospital Develops and implements staffing plans. Yes Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Nursing required or Master's Degree Nursing preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Registered Nurse RN - MA license required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS Certification] preferred Basic Life Support [BLS] Certificate preferred Experience Nursing experience 2-3 years required and Nursing leadership experience 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong commitment to clinical excellence. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
