Overview Our Birthing Pavilion is a 21-room, 24-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. We average approximately 1300 deliveries each year. Approximately fifty-five percent of our patients are high-risk and are part of our Maternal Fetal Medicine service. We receive transports from all of New Hampshire, Southern Vermont, and occasionally Maine. We have a robust midwifery service along with a generalist physician service. We provide antepartum care, intrapartum care, postpartum care, normal newborn care, and focus care newborn care. We have a two-bed triage room in which we triage all of our own patients. Our unit includes two operating rooms (ORs) in which everyone is trained in perioperative care, i.e. circulating and scribing in the OR, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) services. We collaborate with many units in the organization including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiovascular Critical Care (CVCC), and the Main Operating Room to provide highly specialized care to our pregnant and postpartum patients. The Intensive Care Nursery (ICN or NICU) is next door to us and we have a very close relationship with their team. This position is FT, 3x12hr rotating shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a) across all 7 days and holidays. Capacity Coordination Center Nurses are responsible for providing a high level of customer service in a high stress, fast paced environment while maintaining flexibility and the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve in rapidly changing conditions. Responsibilities Obtains and documents relevant clinical data to individually assess the needs of each patient to ensure appropriate level of care and proper placement of patients. Acts as a navigator for referring providers in identifying and accessing appropriate DHH services. Manages and coordinates communications between referring and DH providers via telephone and electronic communication methods. Identifies and facilitates patients for redirect and placement to DHH affiliates. Coordinates and actively participates in daily capacity huddles with On-Call Medical Director, administration, and designated departmental charge nurses to develop relevant mitigation strategies that maximize safe patient intake and patient care resource needs. Advocates on patient behalf in obtaining access to appropriate DHH services. Directs, coordinates, and updates patient transfer queue. Registered Nurse (RN) - Hematology/Oncology Infusion

Overview Plan, organize and implement nursing care and education of adult patients, and adult patients undergoing treatment with coumadin/warfarin. Responsibilities Clinical: Coordinates patient care with the Primary Care Provider and other care providers, as appropriate. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, and infection control standards. Inform patients of PT results, dose of medication to take, and time frame for follow-up. Recognizes patient problems and refers any concerns regarding medication regimen, bleeding, or other adverse physical conditions to the physician. Assists patients arriving in the clinic, and takes vital signs as needed, referring patients to the physician’s office or ER, as indicated. Performs prothrombin/INR blood tests and records appropriately. Ensures patients are knowledgeable regarding their medication, providing additional education as needed. Administrative & Clerical: Assists in the development of nursing policies and procedures related to the care of patients receiving specialty services. Maintains accurate records on each patient. Assists in registering new patients, scheduling appointments and follow-ups on missed appointments, as necessary. Prepares patient education Prepares daily list of pending PTs Completes and sends out patient status reports to referring providers. Enters PT/INR results into computer system. Assists lab with yearly correlation studies. Clinic Maintenance: Keeps patient care areas clean and neat. Ensures availability of supplies and equipment Checks control accuracy on testing device and records monthly. Cleans and disposes of blood testing equipment. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 1-3 years general nursing experience in in a hospital/clinical setting. Current state license as appropriate is required.
