Scope Of Position The Registered Nurse in the Surgical Services Section utilizes the nursing process, diagnoses to treat human responses to actual or potential problems and is accountable to the patient, family, and peers for the totality of work performed in order that the organization can fulfill its primary mission of providing quality health care within the community. Population serviced includes adult, geriatric patients and upon occasion, adolescents. Reports to the OR Manager. Responsibilities Assess, plan, and implement a individualized plan of care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments and equipment according to procedure requirements. Maintain awareness while in the surgery suite of the patient, surgeon, anesthesia responses, and overall condition during surgery. Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure seamless surgical care, collaborating with surgeons. anesthesia and other healthcare professionals. Contributes to Quality Improvement activities and participates in the departmental Quality Improvement Program. Clear communication with the patient and their families. Be familiar and adhere to the regulations of AORN. Perform other related duties as required. Requirements Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in the operating room, successful completion of the periop 101 course, or ability to successfully complete periop 101 course required. Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR), preferred. Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a time-oriented environment including exposure to all patient elements, i.e. blood borne pathogens, etc. Physical requirements: Able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs using provided equipment or additional manpower as needed. Home Infusion Nurse Coordinator

The Home Infusion Nursing Coordinator is the clinical lead for the Home Infusion Nursing Team, who provides and utilizes clinical expertise and skills to coordinate and provide patient care, patient education and staff training regarding therapy and supplies, as well as clarifying competency and expectations of care in the home. This position facilitates support, addresses and triages clinical and administrative queries from the home infusion and pertinent system nursing teams to the appropriate pharmacy and nursing leadership, ensures development and evaluation of competency-based orientation as needed for the Home Infusion Nursing team. Responsible for the delivery of high-quality care as it relates to delivery of infusion therapy in the home or alternate setting. Facilitates with staff and provides direct to assigned patient and/or caregiver education on proper handling, storage and administration of infusion medications as well as signs and symptoms of access device complications. 5. In collaboration with pharmacy and nursing leadership, plays a significant role in the development, evaluation and implementation of standards of practice and related policies and procedures, ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards relating to nursing. 6. In collaboration with pharmacy and nursing leadership, reviews, escalates and responds to patient and family complaints, investigates unusual events and ensures proper follow-up and documentation. 7.
