Description Kindred Hospital Paramount and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is 177-bed hospital. With 159 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds, we offer the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. Our 18-bed ARU is designed for people who have experience the debilitating effects of an acute injury, impairment or illness and like the LTACH, we partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. Job Summary Provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Develops nursing care plans in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary. Communicates changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate. Participates in discharge planning process. Essential Functions Maintains the standard of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department. Directs, supervises, provides and evaluates nursing care provided to patients. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Work requires 16-week minimum orientation to acquire necessary familiarity with department and unit policies and procedures. Must possess analytical abilities, sound nursing knowledge, problem solving skills for the effective formulation of a plan of care, implementation of care, and appropriate documentation of pertinent information regarding patient-condition. Must possess sufficient interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel. Must have demonstrated leadership skills to participate in professional and community education programs; and to effectively maintain good public relations for the institution.
