Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. Performs a variety of patient assessment/care tests (e.g. EKG, Spirometry, vision/hearing screening, peak flow, color blindness, etc.) in accordance with established protocols. Makes independent wound assessments and performs complex wound care and dressing changes, including placement or changing of wound vac); removes sutures or staples after wound assessment by a Provider. Inserts and/or removes tubes, drains, urinary catheters, including removal of peripherally-inserted central catheter (PICC); applies splints/braces. Instructs patients in the collection of samples and other tests; ensures that patient or family understands follow-up and referral information. Informs patients of lab results, calls in prescriptions to pharmacies and returns practitioners’ phone messages.
