Overview The Primary Care Clinic provides a pediatric medical home for children of the Kansas City metro area. Our care team provides high-quality primary care for children from birth through adolescence. The primary care team works with medical specialists, social workers, clinical service coordinators, case managers, registered dietitians and allied health providers to create care plans to meet each patient’s unique health care needs. Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require hospital/outpatient care. Registered staff nurses utilize the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate nursing care for their assigned patients. Registered staff nurses provide patient and family education and advocate for their needs. Registered nurses coordinate patient care with nonprofessional personnel, as necessary. Responsibilities Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate plan of care for the patient and family that promotes optimal patient outcomes. Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs. Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered. Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality. Qualifications Associate's Degree ADN Required. Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role. Bachelor's Degree Preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Nurses hired after this date without a BSN, must complete their degree within 5 years of their hire date. The pay range for this job begins at $31.00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
