Job Description Job Function Summary: Involved in ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and / or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing unit(s) or area(s). Qualifications Required qualifications: Minimum of five (5) years recent full-time acute care, critical care or emergency RN experience Previous Supervisory/Lead Experience Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a patient care unit. In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations and internal policies. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions. Strong interpersonal skills for effective information exchange and problem solving with all levels of management and staff, consultants and outside agencies. Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and security policies and procedures related to Protected Health Information (PHI) or other sensitive and personal information. Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a patient care unit. Experience with Epic/Apex Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources matters and performance, and to provide input to decision-making on human resources matters. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to safety and infection control policies and procedures. Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management system used in nursing units or departments. Master's Degree preferred.
