OB Post-Partum The OB Post-Partum department at Mercy Regional Medical Center is a 13-bed unit with about 80 deliveries a month. LDRP, circulate and PACU recovery for C-sections, antepartum, OB triage and outpatient procedures. We are the only Labor and Delivery unit in town, so we care for everyone low risk to high risk. We do not receive overflow from other departments. Our mission is to give everyone the birth experience they are looking for whether it is all-natural with our midwife group or a high-risk pregnancy with our OBGYN group and everything in between. The RN may work in a variety of settings in the Cardiovascular/Telemetry Complex and roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of the specific patient populations served in the Critical Care/Telemetry units/departments. Partners with patients and families to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Assesses and incorporates evidence-based standards of practice. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination care. Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of plan of care. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput to assure patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes of patient care when addressing customer’s needs to include current evidence based practice and quality measures. Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify education method to ensure patient/family comprehension. Educates by assuming responsibility to individualize and coordinate patient education, and discharge specific education that includes family/caregiver. Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents. Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
