Overview The Public Health Nurse is a local immunization expert and resource for medical practices, schools, childcare providers, and the public in Newport District Office. The focus of this position is to conduct quality improvement visits to healthcare providers enrolled in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program, training them in immunization best practices and working with them to increase vaccine coverage rates. Duties also include oversight of the local district office vaccine program, including vaccine ordering, management, and vaccine administration; leading office and community vaccination clinics for community members who have limited access to care; and working collaboratively with colleagues and community partners to identify immunization gaps and disparities. Additional Information About the Role The General Surgery floor and intermediate care unit is located on north campus in the Schoenberg Pavilion and is a bariatric center of excellence. The nurses care for patients who undergo innovative surgeries including plastic reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, endocrine oncology, and ophthalmology. The intermediate care unit provides monitoring of adult surgical patients that do not meet criteria for ICU but require a higher level of care such as continuous cardiac monitoring, frequent I & O, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, initiation of CPAP/BIPAP, frequent vital signs, and intravenous medication management of approved medications. BayCare Medical Group’s Cardiac Center of Excellence , based out of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida , is seeking a board-certified APRN/PA-C Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery APP. At least three years of post-training work experience with pediatric cardiac surgery patient care is required. RNFA certification is required. In this full-time role, you will be working alongside our Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgeons both in and out of the operating room. Experience in caring for pediatric cardiac patients in a variety of settings, including ICU, is required. You will also serve as a patient advocate, acting as liaison between patients and physicians. Schedule will include eight-hour shifts Monday thru Friday, with the option to transition to four ten-hour shifts once training is completed. Call responsibilities include approximately 15 days per month. Position requires Florida licensure and certification PA-C or APRN. Minimum of two-years of experience (within the last 12 months) in pediatric surgical subspecialty field, with first assist experience.
