The Nurse Manager provides day-to-day leadership for the Pediatric Infusion Center and the Hematology/Oncology Clinic, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. A caregiver in this position will work M- F, days. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Manage practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care on assigned unit . Establish clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes. Collaborate with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards, identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit. Develop and maintain unit-related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement. Maintain JCAHO and other regulatory standards. Manage operation of unit. Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs and mix. Provide direction and supervision, evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes, and develop strategic plans. Actively promote staff and self-development. Participate in clinical nursing research and supports foundation research activities. Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products. Under general supervision, assumes 24-hour accountability to plan and provide direct professional nursing care for specified patients throughout the entire episode of service delivery as defined by population and unit.
