Position Summary/ Department Summary: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Inpatient Orthopedics Key Responsibilities: Comprehensive care of Pediatric Orthopedic patients from newborn through young adult admitted to a busy surgical service. Attending surgical rounds, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests, pre-and post-op care/counseling, surgical wound management, and casting/bracing. Coordination of care including admission, specialty consultation, management of medical comorbidities, patient education, and discharge. Responding to emergent situations. Triage/ family calls.
