Assists with and provides appropriate supplies and equipment for vaginal deliveries. Performs a variety of non-nursing functions including clerical functions. Duties: Transcribes physician orders accurately and timely. Schedules medical procedures and appointments for patients. Maintains patient confidentiality, maintains patient’s medical record in chronological order. Enters all orders into POETS accurately and timely. Enters data into Delivery Log books. Utilizes all communication systems correctly (pagers, call system, phone). Reports all identified and potential problems to the Charge Nurse and/or Clinical Nurse Manager. Utilizes principles and techniques of operating asepsis. Observes for and promptly reports breaks in sterile techniques. Completes sponge, instrument, and needle counts and reports any discrepancy before skin closure begins. Preferred scheduling for their weekday requirements. Work 2 weekends or every 3 weeks, both Saturday and Sunday on those weekends with rotating times. (For example: weekend 1: work, weekend 2: work, weekend 3: off) Train for 3 weeks. (Week 1: Day shift on Monday & Tuesday, & Wednesday then train 8-10 shifts during Week 2 & Week 3 primarily during the shift you are hired for, based on our Trainers’ schedule and availability). Must have a compact license and live in that compact state. (no states with pending legislation or future implementation dates are considered current compacts) What is important to know? We are growing and excited to be able to support our clients’ nursing staffs in the field who need time to focus on work-life balance, as well, while being able to trust that we are there to support them and their patients during nights and weekends! Patient care is #1. We do not have call quotas. We employ the best nurses to provide the best care. When our patients or their families reach our triage line, they immediately speak directly with a nurse. We do not have PRN positions. We are super busy. If you like fast-paced roles, keep reading… Any nurse may pick up additional shifts, if shifts are available for the clients’ they are trained to support. We will provide you with a laptop and headset. Nurses are required to provide their own high-speed internet (only fiberoptic or coaxial cable internet is compatible with our remote call center technology). Our laptop is required to be directly connected to your modem. Working through Wi-Fi is not compatible with our systems. The calls will drop. It is essential to have a home office or quiet space free from noise or distractions in your home (Privacy/HIPAA compliant space is required). Training is provided remotely and is paid; no travel is required in this role. MUST be able to follow instructions (verbal and written) and be comfortable with technology (tech savvy). Must remain in good standing and ensure their home state license remains active. IntellaTriage will cover the cost of non-compact state licensure based on the client(s) that are assigned for support. All nurses must have a compact license and reside/work in that state. Shift prep is a minimum clock-in of 30 minutes prior to taking calls; this is paid time to prepare. Once calls roll to the next team/shift, our nurses remain clocked in and complete any remaining charting before leaving for the day. This may take 30 minutes or this may take 2 hours. It depends on the pace of the calls received during that shift and the pace of your ability to quickly navigate technology and type. Sound exciting to you? Here, you will be involved in process improvement or quality initiatives related to, but outside of, Perioperative Services. You will assist the nursing and medical staff in providing care to patients undergoing surgical intervention and performing surgical scrub technologist duties; collaborate with nursing and other disciplines, when necessary, to revise the plan of care to meet the changing needs of the patient, having constant contact with the Operating Room staff, physicians, clerical staff, anesthesia staff, and materials management. This is the Center for Care and Discovery OR department. This position is 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. Essential Job Functions Independently performs the surgical scrub role in the operative field and can scrub in all services, including adult and pediatric. Applies knowledge related to emergencies and trauma situations and surgical procedures in the operating room. Demonstrates infection control practices by utilizing proper aseptic techniques while dealing with blood/body fluid. Correctly uses all sterilizers and high-level disinfectors related to surgical procedures; documents appropriately and maintains competencies, as required. In conjunction with the Specialty Manager, Charge Nurse, and Central Sterile Processing, demonstrates organizational skills in case preparation, case cart picking, and accurate room set-up for instrument and tray contents in scheduled cases. This is a per diem role in our Great Neck, NY surgery center. Must be CST The center is open Monday through Thrusday 8:00:4:30 and Friday 7:30-4:30pm. Sign On Bonus! PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the USV/FMCNA Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and USV/FMS policy requirements. Under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager or Chief Radiology Technologist, performs scrub and circulating duties during interventional procedures according to USV/FMS policies and procedures. Assists with preparation of procedure room, inventory of supplies and stocking of supplies in the procedure room and stock room. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with the maintenance and setting up of the procedure room in compliance with FMCNA/USV policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Stocks procedure room and procedure trays with all needed supplies and interventional equipment prior to procedure. Cleans the procedure room including the equipment and machinery post procedure. May assist with preparing the patient for the surgical procedure by positioning, shaving and prepping. Performs additional tasks as designated by Physician, practicing in compliance with state regulations Prepares and administers medications within the scope of practice and state regulations Performs patient transfers and positioning of patients and transports patient to and from procedure room. Acts as scrub assistant assisting the physician during interventional procedures under fluoroscopy; maintaining a sterile technique according to the established company policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Draws up intravenous medication and labels as per Medication Labeling Policy, and Medication in the Sterile Field Competency. Performs circulating duties in the procedure room. Complies with HIPAA policies and standards in regards to patient confidentiality. Assists with maintaining environmental integrity and aesthetics. Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary and safe on a daily basis Ensures all facility equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment on a daily basis before and after procedures. May perform minor equipment repairs and general upkeep. Communicate problems to supervisor and document issues in the communications log. Assists with disposal of hazardous waste materials, dirty linen and rugs. May assist with instrument sterilization and packaging of surgical instruments. Assists with preparing, organizing, and efficiently utilizing supplies and equipment to prevent wastage. Provides outstanding quality of patient care by supporting and driving USV quality standards through meeting regulatory requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), including use of USV/FMS CQI tools. Assists with implementing USV quality goals and facility specific action plans in order to achieve USV quality standards. Maintains integrity of medical records and other USV administrative and operational records. Complies with all data collection and auditing activities. Provides clerical and practical support to physicians and staff: Works with the physicians and staff to have all necessary instruments and equipment are on hand. May print images and send to the physician. May assist with training and orienting new employees on the medical equipment. Files paperwork in patient files according to policies and procedures. Assists with inventory, ordering of supplies and re-stocking of supplies. May process x-ray images after acquisitions. May archive patient images to a CD or DVD to comply with USV policies and procedures for patient medical records and state regulations. Participates in all facility regulatory and accreditation surveys and action plans to address any deficiencies identified. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION : High School Diploma required Surgical Technologist Certification as required by state regulation All appropriate state licensure, and or certification education and training (if any) required. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: 1 - 2 years' related experience. Previous patient care experience preferred. Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and Ultrasound equipment), procedures and materials/supplies needed for each procedure. Knowledge of sterile techniques. Experience with special procedures utilizing a C-Arm preferred. Knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices to be utilized when operating radiology systems.
