Overview Department: Telemetry Shift’s Available: Nights Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am – 7:00pm (12hr shifts) Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS A Tele Charge Registered Nurse oversees nursing operations on our telemetry unit, coordinating staff assignments, managing patient care, and ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring is safely conducted. They serve as both a clinical expert and team leader, handling emergencies, facilitating communication, and supporting both patients and staff. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Staff Coordination: assign nursing staff to patients based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload Unit Supervision: monitor overall operations of the telemetry unit during the shift, ensuring workflow efficiency and patient safety Direct Patient Care: provide hands-on care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients when needed, including administering medications and treatments Telemetry Monitoring: interpret cardiac telemetry strips, identifies arrhythmias, and initiates appropriate interventions or escalations Problem-Solving: act as the go-to person for clinical issues, staff concerns, or resource shortages during the shift Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Current and valid state RN License Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current. Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained current. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Overview Department: Telemetry Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 12 hour – 7:00pm to 7:00am Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modifications in the Telemetry Unit Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State. BCLS upon hire and maintain current. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
