Overview Job Summary: The Certified Nurse Assistant, reporting to the Nursing Unit Director, with assignment and direction from the Registered Nurse &/or LVN. Follows hospital Fall Prevention Protocol to ensure patient’s safety. Administers routine catheter care. Empties, measures and documents urine output. Removes Foley catheters as ordered. Consistently follows universal precautions in handling of patient body fluids. Consistently demonstrates proper use of hand washing after and before each patient contact. In consultation with the RN, contributes to the plan of care based on interaction with the patient and/or family. Reports to the RN observed patient response to interventions, treatments, medications, and procedures.
