: Director of Nursing/ Wellness Director Position Summary: The Wellness Director plays an integral role in upholding American House’s mission to enrich the lives of those we serve. Our Wellness Directors supervise, educate, direct and support all Wellness team members. This is a leadership position within the community and serves as manager on duty in the absence of the Executive Director. Description Duties Description Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 (Psychiatric) or a Registered Nurse 2 (Psychiatric), incumbents serve as members of a multidisciplinary team performing a variety of nursing and client care activities designed to ensure that clients receive all necessary care in accordance with the nursing care plan, established protocols, and standards of health care. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Provides direct nursing care to clients, including comprehensive admission assessments, dispensing medication, providing physician-ordered medical treatment, transcribing orders, and collection of specimens for laboratory analysis or culture. Provides health education to clients, monitors client behavior and participates in treatment planning. Assesses the needs of clients, which can include an assessment of care received, services available, and work environments to identify potential obstacles to success.
